Best RS3 Ironman QoL Unlocks

30 utility unlocks that save an Ironman time on every trip, grouped by what they do. This page is about convenience, not combat stats: for weapons and armour see the gear guides, and for minigame rewards see the minigames guide.

Tools

  • Dragon pickaxe

    60 Mining

    Where to get it: Rare drop from chaos dwarves on the Chaos Dwarf Battlefield and Chaos Giants (Birthright of the Dwarves); also a crystal triskelion reward — 60 Mining to use

    The mid-game pickaxe, and the base item for the crystal and Imcando pickaxes. (Orikalkum pickaxe + 3 has identical stats if you can smith it.)

  • Dragon hatchet

    60 Woodcutting

    Where to get it: Rare drop from the Dagannoth Kings (Waterbirth Island); also a crystal triskelion reward — 60 Woodcutting to use

    The mid-game hatchet, and the base item for the crystal and Imcando hatchets. Pairs with the dragon pickaxe.

  • Crystal pickaxe & hatchet

    Plague's End

    Where to get it: Give a dragon pickaxe/hatchet plus 4,000 harmonic dust to Lady Ithell in Prifddinas (after Plague's End) — 70 Mining/Woodcutting to use

    Tier 70 gathering tools that can be augmented; the crystal hatchet chops about 15% faster than dragon. Needs a dragon tool first.

  • Imcando pickaxe

    80 MiningBirthright of the Dwarves

    Where to get it: After Birthright of the Dwarves, collect the 4 Imcando pickaxe fragments from lava geysers in the Lava Flow Mine, then take them to Thurgo with a gilded dragon pickaxe, 1M coins and a redberry pie — 80 Mining to use

    Tier 80 pickaxe (a step above crystal) with no Prifddinas requirement. The dragon pickaxe must first be gilded by the Liquid Gold Nymph in the Lava Flow Mine.

  • Augmented tools + gizmo perks

    22 Invention

    Where to get it: Unlock Invention (80 Crafting, Smithing and Divination), then attach an augmentor to your tools (tools can be augmented from 22 Invention)

    Honed (higher gathering success), Furnace, Fortune, Refined — the single biggest gathering/processing efficiency jump.

Teleports & movement

  • Amulet of glory

    80 Crafting

    Where to get it: Enchant a dragonstone amulet (80 Crafting to make, 68 Magic to enchant)

    Four staple teleports (Edgeville, Karamja, Draynor, Al Kharid). Recharge for free at the Fountain of Heroes or the Tears of Seren in Prifddinas.

  • Teleport jewellery set

    Where to get it: Craft/enchant: games necklace, ring of duelling, Dig Site pendant, skills necklace, combat bracelet; the ring of slaying comes from Slayer points

    Each saves huge run time (Gamers’ Grotto and Tears of Guthix, Castle Wars and Het’s Oasis, the Dig Site, Slayer masters and dungeons, skilling and combat guilds).

  • Wicked hood

    Where to get it: Free from Tam McGrubor (Burthorpe)

    Works as a tiara for every altar whose talisman or tiara you feed it, and teleports to the Runecrafting Guild; altar teleports use charges from wicked hood teleport tokens. Since the 16 March 2026 DailyScape overhaul it no longer gives free daily essence, runes or teleports.

  • War's Retreat

    Where to get it: War’s Insignia north of the Draynor lodestone — needs combat level 60 or total level 1,000; the War’s Retreat Teleport spell unlocks at 10 boss kills

    Bank chest, bonfire boost and attunable boss portals from the start; the altar (200 boss kills) and adrenaline crystals (1,000 boss kills) unlock with more kills. The bossing QoL hub.

  • Fairy ring network

    A Fairy Tale II - Cure a Queen

    Where to get it: Start A Fairy Tale II - Cure a Queen (after Priest in Peril, Nature Spirit, Lost City and A Fairy Tale I); needs a dramen or lunar staff until Fairy Tale III

    Fast travel across dozens of useful spots (Slayer, farming, resource areas).

Dungeoneering rewards

  • Bonecrusher

    41 Dungeoneering21 Prayer

    Where to get it: Daemonheim reward shop — 50,000 Dungeoneering tokens (41 Dungeoneering, 21 Prayer)

    Auto-crushes bones from kills into Prayer XP. Pair with a bone necklace (twisted bird skull or demon horn) to restore Prayer too.

  • Herbicide

    41 Dungeoneering21 Herblore

    Where to get it: Daemonheim reward shop — 50,000 Dungeoneering tokens (41 Dungeoneering, 21 Herblore); also 10,000 beans at the Farmers’ Market

    Destroys selected grimy herb drops for double their cleaning Herblore XP. Set-and-forget while training combat.

  • Gem bag

    25 Dungeoneering25 Crafting

    Where to get it: Daemonheim reward shop — 2,000 Dungeoneering tokens (25 Dungeoneering, 25 Crafting)

    Holds 100 uncut gems — fewer bank trips while Mining. (The old Dungeoneering coal bag was removed; smithed ore boxes now store ores and coal.)

  • Scrolls (Life, Cleansing, Efficiency)

    25 Dungeoneering25 Farming

    Where to get it: Daemonheim reward shop — Life: 10,000 tokens (25 Farming, 25 Dungeoneering); Cleansing: 20,000 (49 Herblore, 49 Dungeoneering); Efficiency: 20,000 (55 Smithing, 55 Dungeoneering)

    Scroll of life (chance to get seeds back when harvesting), Cleansing (10% chance to save a secondary and faster potion-making), Efficiency (2% chance to refund each bar when smithing).

  • Ring of kinship

    1 Dungeoneering

    Where to get it: Free from the Dungeoneering tutor at the entrance to Daemonheim

    Dungeoneering party/combat perks + unlimited teleports to Daemonheim.

Drop processing

  • Seedicide

    Where to get it: Cabbage Facepunch Bonanza (2,200 renown), Player-owned farm Farmers’ Market (10,000 beans) or Stanley Limelight (360 thaler)

    Destroys selected seed drops for double their planting Farming XP — passive Farming while you Slay.

  • Demon horn necklace / Twisted bird skull necklace

    21 Dungeoneering30 Prayer

    Where to get it: Both from the Daemonheim reward shop. Twisted bird skull: 6,500 tokens (21 Dungeoneering, 30 Prayer). Demon horn: 35,000 tokens (75 Dungeoneering, 90 Prayer)

    Restores Prayer when bones are buried or crushed by a Bonecrusher — near-infinite Prayer at many tasks. The twisted bird skull necklace is the cheap early one the pathway guide buys alongside the Bonecrusher.

  • Charming imp

    41 Dungeoneering21 Summoning

    Where to get it: Daemonheim reward shop — 50,000 Dungeoneering tokens (41 Dungeoneering, 21 Summoning)

    Auto-collects charms from kills (or converts them to Summoning XP) — saves enormous clicking while Slaying.

  • Meerkats pouch + Fetch Casket scrolls

    4 Summoning

    Where to get it: Treasure Trails rewards only (the pouch and scrolls cannot be made) — 4 Summoning to summon

    The special move digs up coordinate, compass and scan clue steps without a wizard appearing — a clue-hunting staple.

Storage & convenience

  • Herb bag, seed bag, plank box, wood box

    Where to get it: Herb bag: Herby Werby D&D (200 spirit points). Seed bag: crafted from Croesus resources (85 Crafting). Plank box: Estate agent (50 contract credits). Wood box: fletched from logs

    Bulk storage for gathering — drastically fewer bank trips.

  • Magic notepaper

    Where to get it: Stanley Limelight Traders (500 thaler); enchanted notepaper can be made with Invention (97, blueprint from Daemonheim rewards)

    Notes items on the go — lets you keep gathering past a full inventory.

  • Skilling urns

    1 Crafting

    Where to get it: Make with Crafting (soft clay, fired and imbued with a rune) — ten skills have urns

    +20% bonus XP when filled and teleported to Ernie. Cheap, big passive XP boost.

Luck

  • Ring of wealth

    55 Crafting68 Magic

    Where to get it: Enchant a dragonstone ring (55 Crafting to make) with Lvl-5 Enchant (68 Magic)

    Tier 2 luck — improves luck-gated rare drops, plus Grand Exchange and Miscellania teleports. Build toward Luck of the Dwarves.

  • Luck of the Dwarves

    107 Invention91 Crafting87 Magic

    Where to get it: Invent an alchemical onyx (107 Invention), craft it into a ring (91 Crafting), then cast Lvl-6 Enchant (87 Magic)

    Tier 4 luck, the highest tier — unlocks the best luck-gated drops. Hazelmere’s signet ring is an equal-tier alternative that only drops (super-rare table, needs tier 4 luck). Long-term chase item.

Combat sustain

  • Vampyrism (Ancient Magicks)

    69 MagicDesert Treasure

    Where to get it: Ancient Magicks spellbook (Desert Treasure) — 69 Magic

    Heals 5% of damage dealt (up to 50 life points per hit) — the replacement for the old Vampyrism aura (auras removed April 2026).

  • Penance (Ancient Magicks)

    67 MagicDesert Treasure

    Where to get it: Ancient Magicks spellbook (Desert Treasure) — 67 Magic

    Restores 5% of damage taken as Prayer points — replaces the old Penance aura. Can’t run alongside Vampyrism (one aspect at a time).

Diary & quest rewards

  • Explorer's ring

    Where to get it: Lumbridge achievements (claim from Ned in Draynor Village)

    Run energy restores, Falador cabbage patch teleport, free daily alch/superheat casts — an early QoL staple. (See your diary goals.)

  • Ardougne cloak

    Where to get it: Ardougne achievements

    Unlimited Ardougne Monastery teleports, Manor Farm teleport, Thieving success boosts and weekly pure essence by tier.

  • Morytania legs

    Where to get it: Morytania achievements

    Slime pit (Ectofuntus) teleport, free daily bonemeal and slime from Robin, Barrows perks, and 10% Slayer XP in the Slayer Tower at tier 4.

  • Tirannwn quiver

    Where to get it: Tirannwn achievements

    Ammo storage + teleports around Tirannwn (Lletya, Eluned, and more by tier).
