How to get seren components as an RS3 Ironman

How an RS3 Ironman gets Seren components: disassembling crystal weapons and shields (1/8 each), augmenting first to multiply the yield, and attuned crystal gear for 3 guaranteed.

Last verified against the RuneScape Wiki: 28 September 2026 ·

Short answer

  • Main source: Disassemble crystal equipment. Crystal weapon seed variants and crystal shields give a Seren component at a 1/8 (12.5%) chance per roll.

  • Multiply it: Augment the crystal weapon and level it before disassembling; the yield rises by up to 4× depending on equipment level.

  • Late game: Attuned crystal armour and attuned crystal weapons (T80) guarantee three components, but need a lot of harmonic dust or tarddian crystals.

Ironman tips

  • You need 83 Invention to discover and use Seren components, but not to obtain them. Discovering them gives 89,273 XP.
  • Crystal pickaxes, hatchets and mattocks give only 1 component and cost harmonic dust to replace, so the wiki advises against disassembling them.
  • Crystal tool seeds and crystal binding rods do not give Seren components.
